A.1. Description of the Company
Česká pojišťovna a.s. (”Česká pojišťovna” or “ČP” or “the Company”) is a composite insurer offering a wide range of life and non-life insurance products and is domiciled in the Czech Republic. The Company was incorporated on 1 May 1992 as a joint stock company and is the successor to the former state-owned insurance company Česká státní pojišťovna.
In 2012, the Company established a branch in Poland. The branch was registered into the Polish Commercial Register on 23 August 2012. Economic data of the branch are, in accordance with the legislation of the Czech Republic, an integral part of the financial statements of the Company. Activities of the branch are identical to those of the founder and are subject to supervision of the Czech National Bank.
Structure of Shareholders
The Company’s sole shareholder is CZI Holdings N.V., registered office Diemerhof 32, 1112XN, Diemen, the Netherlands; registered on 6 December 2006, identification number 34245976.CZI Holdings is an integral part of Generali PPF Holding B.V. (GPH) a company owned by Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A. (“Generali”) (76%) and PPF Group N.V (24%). The Company’s ultimate parent company is Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A. (“Generali”). The financial statements of Generali Group are publicly available on www.generali.com.
